Robert Fabius Butler Robert Fabius Butler was born January 4, 1834 in Simpson County, Kentucky, the son of George W. and Lucy Jennings Butler. He married Mary Anne Moss in Hart County, Kentucky on April 18, 1860. She was the daughter of Albert T. and Sarah J. McCaul Moss. They came to Dallas County, Texas, in the Fall of 1854. After her death, he married Mamie Ford. He was a circuit riding Baptist preacher. He and his brother, Joseph Jennings Butler, founded the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at Richardson, Texas, which was later changed to the First Baptist Church of Richardson, Texas. He raised and exhibited prize-winning game chickens, and in the 1890s, he wrote the "Uncle Snort" column for Farm and Ranch Magazine. Robert was a Mason and appears on list of Dallas citizens of 1881 as a farmer in Richardson. Robert and Mary lived on a farm of 150 acres on Campbell Road west of Westshore Drive in Richardson, Texas. Their children are: ? Henry Alcie, born 4 March 1862 in Richardson, Texas, married Helen C. Christian 2 December 1886. Helen was born in 1859 in Missouri. Alcie farmed in Ellis County, Texas. He donated land for a school, in keeping with family priorities: their children, their land, and good schooling. With their children they moved to Dickens County, Texas, in 1913. Their children are: ? Robert A., born 1887, married Loulie Martin. Rob graduated from Midlothian High School in 1906. He won a scholarship to study art in Germany and left a pictorial legacy of his times, and a lasting impact on all who knew him. ? May married Wilford Winn, taught school for a lifetime in Texas and Arizona. All of them are buried in McAdoo, near their land in the community that was their home. ? Romina Edna, born 1863 in Richardson, Texas, married Rance Marchbanks, believe buried in Snyder, Scurry County, Texas. ? Fannie Lawrence, born 11 May 1871 married Marshall Moore Skiles in 1895. Fannie died 13 November 1931. They are buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Texas. Marshall was born in 1870 in Dallas County, Texas, and died in 1931. ? Sally, born1873 in Richardson, Texas, mar- ried John Drake. They had Henry, Fain, Clint, Evelyn "Nig" and Katherine "Brownie." ? Thomas H., born 19 October 1875; died June 1909 and is buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Texas; married Dona "Dora" Ashton (?) and had J. C. and Ruth. ? Robert Buckner "Buck," born 27 October 1878 in Richardson, Texas, married Elite Middleton and had Alcie Wade, Lynn, Loyd and Lee Roy. He died November 1923, and is buried in Midlothian Cemetery, Ellis County, Texas. ? John Hannah, born 12 September or October 1875 in Richardson, Texas. He married Loulie D. "Lucy" Stults 6 November 1891. She was born in 1870 and died 1951. They had Brazie and Lawrence "Dick." Gravestone shows John born 1868 died 1925. Both are buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. ? Kyle Freeman, born 26 July 1881 in Richardson, Texas. He married Dezera "Zera" Crawford 26 July 1900 and had Ralph "Bob," Edna and Ken. Kyle died 6 July 1956 and is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Robert Fabius Butler died 16 November 1915. He is buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery near Richardson, Texas.
