MYRON C. SMITH
LENOIR - Myron Craig Smith, 78, of Kincaid Hill Road, died Oct. 28, 2000, at Caldwell County Hospice. Born Oct. 14, 1922, in Caldwell County, he was a son of the late Walter and Lulu Craig Smith. A member of Central Baptist Church, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and he retired from Fairfield Chair Company. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin Coolidge Smith and Wyatt Smith; and a half-sister, Mae Haas. Survivors include his wife, Alma Haigler Smith; two daughters, Janice S. Lovins of the home and Sheila S. Church of Lenoir; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. John M. Jernigan at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chase Taylor, Scott Camp, Sonny Church, Andy Lunceford, James Smith and Scott Brotherton. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 tonight.
