- Note: According to the funeral announcement James Jeremiah was 90 yrs old. He would have been born in 1877 if this is correct. "Jim", as he was called, was buried in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery, GenevaCo, AL. The funeral announcement also stated that he had 27 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. Tombstone has date of 1877-1967.

All of the above tends to support the 1877 date, yet if true, he would have been born one month after his sister, Caroline. He was also not found on the 1880 census while Caroline was. No primary source for the specific birth dates of these children has been provided and clearly there are problems here.

JIM J. HATCHER BURIED MONDAY
Mr. Jim J. Hatcher Sr., age 90 of route 2, Geneva, died Saturday morning in Geneva hospital after a short illness. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Pittman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynwood Duncan officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home directing. He is survived by 4 daughters - Mrs. Esther Towne of Graceville, Fl., Mrs. Mary McDonald of Rine Lander, Wisconsin, Mrs. Corine Minshew of Geneva, and Mrs. Edna Kolah of Toledo, Ohio; 2 sons, Jim Hatcher, Jr. of Dothan, Ala., and Henry H. Hatcher of Sharpsville, Penn; one brother, A. M. Hatcher of Lakeland, Fla., 27 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
